The following are Frequently Asked Questions. If the answer to your question is not here, please visit the Contact page for our email addresses and phone number.
Senior Portraits:
Q: When and how do I submit my Senior Portraits to the Yearbook staff?
A: Senior Portraits are due to the Yearbook Staff on or before October 23rd. They should be turned into Mrs. Settar in room G19. Portraits need to be submitted digitally (on CD or Email.) Please make sure that your portrait meets the minimum specifications concerning resolution and size. If it does not, it will not be placed in the yearbook. This is because the overall quality of the Yearbook is very important to us, and we do not feel that it would be fair to everyone else in the book to include an image that is of poor quality. See the 'Information for Seniors' tab for more information.
Q: Where can I go to get my Senior Portraits taken?
A: You can have your Senior Portraits taken anywhere as long as they conform to the specifications we have already given. Prestige by Lifetouch will be at the school taking senior pictures in June and September. You can also go to their studio to have portraits done. To schedule an appointment with Lifetouch, call 757-420-9417. You are not required to use them, however. We want to make sure that everyone is free to choose their own portrait studio.
Q: Why is it so important that I get my Senior Portrait done so early?
A: It's so important that the senior portraits are done so early because it the first section of the yearbook that has to be turned in. Our first due date falls fairly early in the school year. We need time to organize all of the portraits and the quotes, check over everything, and get everything placed onto the pages. So even having a due date as early as the third week in October doesn't give us too much time to do everything that needs to be done.
It is for all of the above reasons that you may not turn in your senior portrait after the due date. With over 500 seniors in this year's class, we must have all the time possible to prepare the senior section. The more time we get, the better the yearbook looks for everyone!
Senior Quotes:
Q: When is the due date for senior quotes?
A: The due date for the Senior Quotes is the same as the dues date for the Senior Portraits: October 23, 2009. Adhering to this due date is extremely important because the senior quotes need to be ready for our first due date just like the Senior Portraits.
Q: How do I submit my senior quote?
A: You need to submit your Senior Quote by filling out a senior stat sheet. This form is available on our website; it can also be picked up in room G19.
Q: Is there any way I can submit my senior quote after the due date?
A: No you may NOT submit your senior quote after the deadline. As was stated for the same question concerning the Senior Portraits, the Yearbook staff needs all the time it can get to create the pages for the Seniors Section. Because of this, we need all of the quotes in by October 23rd.
Q: How do I know you received my senior quote, senior portrait and/or baby picture?
A: If you want to make sure we have received your information, stop by room G19 before or after school. We have a spreadsheet listing every senior and what we have/have not received. This information can not be posted online, as it is not permitted by Chesapeake Public Schools' Acceptable Use Policy.
Senior Superlatives
Q: When will the Senior Superlatives be voted on?
A: The Senior Superlatives voting will take place on Thursday October 29th during homeroom.
Q: When will the results be posted and the portraits be taken?
A: The Yearbook Staff will tally the votes right after the vote. Results will be read over the morning announcements on Wednesday November 4th. Yearbook staff members will contact the winners and schedule a time when they can be photographed. Photos are typically taken during homeroom, unless the winner is a morning tech student.
Senior Ads
Q: What are Senior Ads?
A: The Senior Ads section is where the parents and friends of seniors can purchase space in the Yearbook to send their senior a special message. Photographs can also be included. These ads really help us keep the cost of the Yearbook down to a reasonable level, and they are also one of the most looked at sections of the entire Yearbook!
Q: How much does a Senior Ad cost?
A: The cost of a Senior Ad depends on the size of the ad itself. Specific pricing is available on the order form. Additional information is available by going to www.theyearbookcompany.com.
Q: How can I order a Senior Ad?
A: Order forms for the Senior Ads are available online by clicking here, and can also be picked up in room G19. Orders should be submitted to The Yearbook Company. There are two due dates available: Early Bird and Regular. There is a slight discount for orders that are submitted during the Early Bird ordering time period.
Q: What is the money from Senior Ads used for?
A: The money from the sale of the Senior Ads is used to make the Yearbook cost a little bit less for everyone. Without the sale of these ads, we would have to charge a lot more for each Yearbook.
Underclassmen Portraits:
Q: When are Underclass portraits taken?
A: Underclass portraits will be taken in October. Announcements will be made prior to Picture Day. For students missing Picture Day, a makeup day will be held in November. Picture package order forms can be picked up in room G19 a week prior to Picture Day.
Q: When do I get my student ID?
A: Underclass photos are used to make the student ID cards. The cards typically come in 3-4 weeks after Picture Day. ID cards are delivered by the Yearbook Staff during homeroom class.
